Twenty-four images of the delicious fruits of wild strawberry, Fragaria vesca. The fruits can be purchased from roadside stands throughout the Balkans during summer months. Native to much of Europe and eastern Canada, the leaves are the part used in herbal medicine as a folk remedy for diarrhea, sore throat, rheumatic complaints and as a flavoring ingredient in combination herbal teas. All of these images were shot in the mountains of northern Montenegro.
