Three images of Purple Poppymallow, Callirhoe involucrata, Malvaceae, mallow family. This prairie species is an obscure medicinal plant, valued by the Kiowa for its beauty. Other plains native groups used root preparations for internal pain, and a fumigant of the root for external pain.
