Twenty-four photographs of American Wormseed, Epazote Chenopodium ambrosioides; Chenopodiaceae; Chenopodiaceae, Goosefoot family. Small amounts of the fresh leaves used to flavor beans (a pinch). Seed oil highly toxic, seeds long used traditionally to expel worms. When collecting the plant in the wild, the essential oil from the bruised leaves was so strong that it caused me to fall unconscious.
